Bad supercharger bearings causing kr?



Idk i didnt know what it really did so i researched it the other day and literally it said it helped to cool the cylinder and make the engine run more efficient

its exhaust gas recalculated to the engine its for emissions and helping to warm the engine up, and adding tons of carbon to everything.
 
Im frusterated because if it was just regular kr wouldnt care everything for me to run e85 is being shipped to me as we speak but the fact i was tuned with no kr and now have kr makes me believe its not from not having enough mods its because somethings broken. I mean geez im top swapped running a stock pulley with headers, 1.9rr, fwi, 104s, 180tstat, and 16* timing and im getting kr? That doesnt seem right.

The EGR only provides any derived benefit in cruise mode, it does cool the combustion cycle ever so slightly and is designed so for the kat... But I think the carbon build up is far worse than any benefit... Delete it and good riddance.

that said, I'll ask the silly question like how old are your plugs? What other mods are present? And in my opinion, I don't see how a SC, unless seizing up, could cause KR... But that's just my opinion. Plugs, coils, fuel, tune?...
 
Well i had about 10k on my plugs and actually put brand new ones in last night. Since there so cheap i figured why not try. I listed my mods in the previous post. Plug wires, fuel pump, icm are 6 months old, coil packs themselves have unkown mileage on them. I also dont know how old the injectors are but when i topswapped a year ago i cleaned them and tested them all before install.

Internet isn't a liar...it does cool the combustion cycle. Since spent exhaust gas is basically void of oxygen, it recirculates the exhaust gas back in to burn any remaining fuel left in the exhaust thus slightly increasing fuel economy and reducing emissions. Due to this process, carbon build up occurs anywhere the exhaust gas has time to condense. Just figured I'd put my $.02 in.
 
Ya the compression does make it difficult especially with only having 91 which is why im so psyched to switch to e85 but either way i didnt have any kr after i tuned with the same mods and now i have kr. To my knowledge nothing has changed.

Well derp there no knock with no boost. Who would have ever thought that would happen.

Toss some 100+ octane fuel in the tank when you get low on fuel, do a pull or two. If the knock is still present, then it's shouldn't be fuel/ignition related and something else is causing the knock sensors to pick up activity.

We've been over this before. You don't need any boost to have knock. NA cars get knock too, my wife's 06 base gets like 4* all stock.
 
na tune is also twice the timing wot of a sc bin. so they have kr.

if you have kr on 16º of timing and dont have the sc hooked up, you got bigger issues.
 


Sven and suiter correct on EGR effect. The piped exh gas dilutes the mixture resulting in a "cooler" burn. I had 2.8 Fiero which knocked with a bad EGR.
