Baby on the way. Suggestions for new car

So I have a baby on the way coming December. Looking for a 4 door car. Debating a 04+ comp g. But also thinking about leaving the platform. Needs to be a four door with decent power and just a overall fun family car. Any suggestions?

I'll be probably looking used. Looking to spend 10,000 but if it's the perfect car I'll be willing to spend 18,000. And I actually was looking into a6

Bill will be your best friend if you do.

Honestly, I wanted a Jap car for her with a nice warranty so I didn't have to worry about her and her vehicle. The newer VW Passat's are also nice vehicles.

If you have questions, holler.

I found a 2010 A6 with the 3.0T aka supercharged and 6 speed tiptronic transmission. I wanted the toys and went with the Prestige.

Prestige gives you 18" wheels (Premium gets 17")
The technology package is also included (Nav, 6 disc, input cable for anything you own, 2 SD cards, and dvd, I think camera too for backup)
Has the paddle shifters
Prestige also gets the convenience key (aka no need to take key out of your pocket ever, I like this a lot)
Snow package will include rear heated seats and heated steering wheel. Ski bag should be in rear seat armrest. Many people snag them, mine is missing.
Then there's the cooler features that you may want.
Lane Assist - tells you if someone is in the blind spot (which is funny..I don't see any blind spots on the car)
Lane Departure - vibrates steering wheel if you cross lines w/o blinker
Adaptive cruise control - controls speed based on car in front of you
Front park assist - only offered in Europe for 2010, but it's nice
Not sure when HUD became available. it's def available in 2012

Well..you have quite the spectrum of choices.

TBSS, I've seen a lot of issues with them.
Diesel.. tough to say no to that. lol
New Gimp.. I suppose

A6 BTW..should be able to be tuned with a pulley for 400AWHP w/o a worry of breakage. Just tossing that out there.

I'd test drive that.. mother in law and husband have Volvers.. say they aren't comfy. Another buddy of mine got an older one and loves it.

yeah, for the most part.

the platform has some quirks, but it can all be fixed for the most part. mine has been awesome for the last ~30k miles since last april.
