Awkward noise

Ok so i just started to hear this noise about a week ago coming from the front of my car. Im not sure if its under the hood or the tires. Well when im driving and i stop at either a stop sign or a traffic light everything is fine, and i do not hear any weird noise but its when i take off from the stop that i hear that noise. It kinda sounds like something is rubbing or like that noise that an old wooden house makes(kinda creaky)..and its just as i take off. It only sounds for like a second and i do not hear it anymore until i reach another stop and the same thing happens again.. Can anyone help? I can not figure out what it is. ....

Could be the brakes dragging a bit. Might want to pull the front calipers and grease the bolts/slides and see what that gets you. Could also be a wheel bearing going.

Great thanks . I'll be sure to check that once the weather calms down a bit. Appreciate it

This sounds like it could be the front struts. Pull the hood release inside the car and go to the front and pull up on the hood with out unlatching the secondary release. If there is enough force being used to lift the front of the car it may make the noise again. So yeah, front struts would be my guess.

Mine does it too, it creaks like a ***** in the cold.

It could be anything from a bad strut, to a motor mount, to the brakes grabbing a bit. If the brakes were grabbing, you should be able to feel it through the pedal some though.

Pop the hood, grab onto the motor, and pull it forward, then let it rock back, and see if it makes the noise. If so, try to locate the noise.
If it does it without the car rocking any, its a mount, if the car does rock, and then you hear it, it's probably a strut.
