Aux off of XM (Bluetooth help)

So last night I was attempting to make an AUX connection from the XM receiver with the stock head unit by somewhat following a few guides. By the time we get a test unit to work, my buddy just had to mentioned how to make it better...Bluetooth. We spent a bit making another contraption and it worked fine with a single and two speakers. We then connect it to the car and ended up getting major interference. About 15 minutes in, it kills my car. Didn't think it would pull that much. So we ended up taking out the Bluetooth for now and rewiring the AUX into the car. If anyone could chime in to why the Bluetooth wasn't playing clear or if you know how it should be done, please let me know! I can go into the details of the Bluetooth if needed.
