Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Auto-X

I've gone a couple of times when I was stock. It was a lot of fun but these cars aren't meant for AutoX at all. Overall I finished towards the bottom but I surprised many of the seasoned guys with the times it was able to pull.

wait these cars can turn? i thought you could only go straight.

auto x looks like a blast. id love to go some time, prolly be better off if i took my moms fusion :th_tongue2:

coupe or sedan won't make a difference; wheelbase is the same. Anyway, I've auto-xed my GTP 3 times and enjoy it, even though the GP is pretty close to the worst auto-x car ever. When the car starts to push in tight corners, steer more and give it more gas (TCS off); it acts as a sort of thrust-vectoring as long as you don't mind losing some rubber in the process.

edit: if you're seriously interested in auto-x, the rule book is a very handy tool to see what type of cars you'll be up against based on the modifications that you have. You can find it here: http://www.scca.com/documents/Solo_Rules/2010_scca_solo_rules.pdf

I'm planning to Auto-X in the spring just to see what it's like. All the videos on Youtube make it look fun. There are more than a few videos of GPs doing Auto-X. Read the rulebook BEFORE you do any mods.

I know the car can't compete versus anything so I don't care what class I end up in. I'm just going to have fun and competing against myself to see what's the fastest time that I can run. So I'll put whatever mods I want on the car and let them put me in whatever class they deem suitable.

As long as you go out and have fun, then that is all that matters

I use to run my maxima and beat the **** out of miata's so anything is possible

Well i've done my reaseach so I know where my GTP will run in the classes, im not looking to go all out, else I would have a dfferent car. I just want to be able to have some fun with the car I have, I had a VW Jetta Sport Package and it was what I wanted to start in. That got ruined after a wreck. Now that I have the GTP I just want to perfect my car control, so I'm up to the challenge. Grew up drag racing, I love it its just too hard on a car I drive everyday. Plus Auto-X exposes the car to extreme situations, its a great way to learn the car. Anyone have a tip for things to watch for during the Auto-X (besides the obvious: Torque-steer and under-steer, those are typical FWD issues)
