Are these valve seals the same?

I will be going with an XP/130# crows and manley modded retainers build.

For the Viton valve seals zzp states it has .020" of extra clearance. Intense gives you an option of stock .510" or machined .500".

Is zzp the same as intense's machined? The numbers aren't adding up.

Intense does state if the guides have or have not been milled down for a s1x build then the .500" are needed.

.020 over the stock "flat" spring equipped ones, this clearance is due to the shorter design of the single lip "coiled" spring. the clearance increase is with all that use the round/coiled spring.

intense is referring to the stock iron guides or aftermarket .500 OD bronze or other guide inserts as those are typically standardized at .500.

if your close enough clearance wise that your nervous you can hit the top of the guides with a grinder and get more clearance.

main thing is for you to slowly tighten your rocker bolts to let the lifters collapse....tighten too fast and you can open the valve huge and bend the valve against a piston if any holes are at TDC

the shorter metal/nitryl or metal/teflon seals.

just make sure when your that close to the seal you must tighten the rockers with em down on base circle or at least do it slowly so the lifter can bleed down so you dont destroy your new seals by forcing the valve open farther than it would with the lifter lash mechanism where its supposed to be (or even bend a valve)

I understand. I have done three 1.9 rocker installs along with 1 cam build. This will be my second cam build.

I just didn't want to have to take it apart any time soon.
