I never saw the post but I didnt search it either, Im on this site all the time and thought it would have been a new type of thread.......fail:th_sign-putz:

Ok I seen it now way at the bottom of the search, my bad. I was just curious though on peoples preferences because I am getting one friday but dont know what I want whether it be a pistol or a shotgun, I seen a decent smith for $300 it was a semi auto. I will post a picture up sometime of my shot groupings, I typically have about a half to 3 quarter inch group from around 10-15 yards shooting 10 rds and all in the bullseye(with a pistol)

Ill take
remington 700 sps tactical .308 win

if i really had money a
cheytec m200 sniper would be great

mossberg 930 autoloader

marlin rimfire 795ss 22lr

Glock g19 g23

Hi-point 9mm Carbine x4
Hi-Point 9mm hand gun x4 gotta love cheap throw aways you can hand out to each of the fam

If someone gave me a cheytec the ammo would break me. I hope to get a .50 cal Barrett someday. It will take a little longer for that to break me. Right now my long range gun is a 30.06.

Is there actually any American that doesn't have an interest in firearms?? The second most important item on the Bill of Rights is fundamental to our existance as a country.

Could we add a "firearms" topic section to the forum? I've seen other sites that have this and I believe it would be a healthy idea.

I've not shot a Glock, but hear the trigger pull is really light. For someone used to a revolver, it may be hard to get used to. A buddy of mine, though, on the local SD, said he bought one and he likes it. I think the like/dislike is going to stem from where/when it's used. Different opinions will surface, depending on whether it's a guy that carries his with him all the time vs. the weekend hunter vs. the guy that shoots, but leaves all his in the safe at home the rest of the time.

Ruger LCP is a nice mouse that fits well in a pocket, though, and is the right size for most occasions, except long range target shooting.:th_winking:

Great original post, by the way! We need more like this to increase awareness and importance.

The gun you get should depend a little bit on how you intend to use it.

I own two pistols. The first is a Glock G17 (kind of wish I would have bought a G19 instead because the G17 is almost impossible to carry concealed) for personal defense, and the second is a S&W 22-A1 Custom that I use for target practice and soon for competition.

I'm assuming you want something to keep around just in case and maybe carry with a CCW license. I love my Glock and will recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a handgun, but I will warn you to consider the size of the gun you buy. Make sure it's not too big to carry, or to small to comfortably handle.

And for God's sake, go out and practice with the darn thing!

I carry an M4 everywhere i go, and on my truck we have a mossberg shotgun, 320 40mm grenade launcher, and a M2 .50 cal. but i guess that is just the perks of being in Afghanistan. I agree owning firearms is a good thing, America was founded with firearms in mind. It good to hear people speak of safety and practice. Muzzle awareness and clearing procedures are very important.

Best, Lenny

Right now I got a Gen4 G19(Glock) and I love it, Glocks are really the only semi-auto I have went with so maybe I will buy something new this weekend. But yes I would recommend them also to anyone, maybe a G19 is the perfect mix of everything. Of course the Glock 18 is always fun to shoot, however not legal to own....ive shot one well over 100 separate times lol and its a blast, just dont try the thing in the movies where they do it one handed. Oh and the trigger pull on a Glock is as light as you make it, they come standard with a 5.5 lb trigger pull but can be lowered or raised to your liking whether it be a 4.5 lb pull or an 8 lb pull or even the NY1 or NY2 triggers you can put in them which simulate revolvers trigger pulls at about 8-12 lbs.

I've shot quite a few different ones. I've never really noticed the difference in trigger pull. I had a Glock 21sf it was a great gun. I prefer my Beretta Elite II in a iwb. It's a little large but it's easy for me to handle as I have RA. I love my Beretta Couger but it's a little harder to handle. They both shoot about the same but doing chamber checks, etc. the lager gun is easier for me to grip. They are both .40S&W. My real love is my 10mm S&W 1076. It is a little too heavy to carry around.

So far no pistols. I plan on getting a couple when I turn 21. I am probably going to get a Hi Point to screw around with because they are so cheap and pretty reliable.

For long guns I have a Ruger 10/22, Savage 93R17 BSEV .17 HMR, Remington 870 Express Super Mag and a custom built 7mm Mauser. I am planning on getting an O/U shotgun sometime in the next couple months.

I also have a Mathews Ovation bow which is my hunting bow and a Hoyt Enticer which is my bowfishing bow.

i dont really have an interest in firearms...lol. ive always been more of a melee guy. long bows, combat knives...ect. i suppose if i did have a firearm itd prolly be an mp or a long range rifle as im a very good shot.
