• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Anyone have a 99+ duct I can buy?

Cold Air Inductions CAI box pics

Well long story short my venture with CAI (cold air inductions) has been a PITA. First off I ordered it nearly 3 weeks ago. I just now received it today. I was told it was going to ship last monday and it didn't ship till Thursday.

Nowhere in the directions or on the website does it say you need a 99+ duct for this intake to work. But guess what you do. No way it will work without it. The 97-98 duct must be way way different. No way it will work. I sent them e-mails about this last week asking if it would work at they never responded. I just tried calling and got a voice mail.

Not to mention when the box came in the plexi glass window had fallen down into the box because the double sided tape didn't keep it on.

I'm going to end up with way to much money invested in this stupid intake to get it working. I am pretty pissed I should have got a wizaired. I would have had it weeks ago and I wouldn't be stuck searching for a duct.

This thing is ROCK solid tho. No flex, bolted down great. Really nice product other than the plexi was loose when shipped and I need a 99+ duct.

The stock air duct will not work with this intake unless you have a 99+ car.

Well I got in contact with the guys at CAI and they are making it right. He told me that it was listed on the website that I needed a 99+ tube. I told him it wasn't so he checked. He offered to refund my cash but I told him the box is already installed and everything. So he told me to go ahead and buy a new boot from the dealer and he would pay me for it.

I did try to chop up the stock tube thinking it would work...well it didn't lol. Hopefully the rain holds out for the next day or two until I get the boot so I can ride my bike.

I told him if I would have known about the boot I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. I would have got the wizaired for sure. I really like the way the box is put together. I managed to get the glass stuck up good and everything. So hopefully it does ok.

I wanted to make some 0-60 runs today with the box in and see if it does better than the stock box. I imagine it will. Best 0-60 (out of 3 trys) today was 6.7 seconds. Estimated hp according to ls1m was 237.

I'm sure it will be worth it all once you get that new duct. You could get one for cheap from Ed Morad. Probably $5 from a bone yard. Your CAI looks sweet.

CAI (cold air inductions) is paying me back for a brand new one from the dealer. They did not have "must use 99+ air duct" listed anywhere so he is going to hook me up. I was kind of mad until he said he would do that for me. The box and stuff is stout I really like the way its designed. Has a very nice PCM tray built in. I like it.

Sounds like a very customer oriented business to me. Reimbursing you for a dealer purchased part is above and beyond regular customer service IMO.

I am having trouble getting one from the dealer. They are on back-order. They claim they found one at a dealer nearby and I will have it in the morning. I will see I guess.
