Anyone else think debadging is stupid

I see it is a popular thing on this forum. Anybody else think its stupid? I know the popular thought is that it gives the car a "cleaner" look. I think it makes it look cheaper. It looks like they made a model that they tried to make so affordable that they didn't even spend the few extra bucks for the badges and the double sided tape to stick them on. I can see doing it with some of the badges, like the "3800" or the chrome GM squares on the newer GPs. I didn't really have an opinion until on saw one debadged in person, and didn't like it. I don't mean to offend anyone, just wondering if anyone shares my opinion.:th_skull:

I would never take off my GTP badges, but I got nothing against taking the grand prix badges on the trunk off.

Im going to leave the gtp badges but i cant stand the grand prix on the trunk. Im also not a fan of our taillights at all, random but true.

if you need to label your car for people to know what it is you shouldnt care what they think because they dont know **** about cars.

there are other things that make a certain model stand out among others. badges break up body lines. every car i own i take off EVERY badge on the entire car.

The difference it made on my car was big. Looks much cleaner IMO. When you look at before and after pics next to each other, it seems to speak for itself.

i like the regal emblems removed from my car, the tape they used to stick them on was full of dirt wax, you name it, they looked like crap. i even took the GS off the tail lights. sleeper. lol

I've removed badges from every car that I've ever owned. Even from my STS. I just think they clutter up the car. These cars already have a lot going on with the lines. From the door ding guards, lower door moldings and rocker panels to all the body lines on both bumpers.....Its just one more thing on top of an already busy car.

i would take AMG badges off a mercedes. i would take STI badges off an STI. badges ruin lines.

ive said this before, clean is the new cool.

Makes ignorant people ask you what kind of car you drive.

I drive a Pontiac Gallardo.

Oh, you never heard of it... its cause its super rare.

I don't leave the badges on so people know what kind of car it is. I like my car, but it is only a Grand Prix. I said that I think it make it look plain and cheap IMO.

I figured this topic would get a lot of heat, but oh my.... 15 replies in a half an hour. My favorite on so far was "your mom" real mature
