Any write ups for steering rack?

I looked in the DIYs and about 6 pages back in the general tech. Is there a good write-up of the steering rack on here?

you can do this with out a lift on your back with jack stands and a floor jack to lower the rear sub frame.

the rear bolts should come out if the heads are still there on the bolts.

Alright, ill just be really careful. Itll be just my luck I mess somethin up and the subframe is done for and I have a really cool lawn ornament.

if you cant lower the frame, the racks not coming out so easy like.

how high it was off the ground. im a tall lank, so i got the all the bolts from the side of the car, only went under it to get the lines off the rack.

Im like 5'10" in my work boots, but ill give er a shot. Im not too sure that it NEEDS replacing, but the tech that changed my oil today (too cold to do it) was pretty adamant it needed replacing because I drove with a bad PS pump, even though I still have PS it just leaks. A lot. So im not sure if he was just fishing for work or what. Just curious to see what Id be getting in to.

if the racks leaking out the boots, its time for a rack, any where else look for a bad line or the pump for leaks.
