Any Suggestions on brake lights

Two days ago I noticed that one of brake lights was out. Today I go to replace the bulb only to find out that both of my brake lights were out. I go to take the bulbs out and they look perfectly fine and not blown out at all. I put them back in and do some test and low and behold they light up when the lights on the car are on (not the daytime running lamps) however whenever I press on the brake I get nothing. Another weird thing is that the light in the rear windshield responds perfectly fine with braking, lights on, ect.
So now I try to figure out where the problem might be. Since the light in the rear windshield works fine and the bulbs are not burned out I immediately think fuse. I go through and check the fuse and it is working fine, not burnt out. I'm really starting to scratch my head now. So I go through all of the fuses (and I'm including the ones under the hood as well) and find out that all of them work and none are burnt out.....
What now? I scheduled an appointment at my local mechanic because my father and I can't figure it out and we spent over 4 hours looking with no result. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT especially before I take it to the mechanic.

Did you ever actually put a new bulb in? There are two filaments in the bulbs... One for when the parking lights are on and both come on regardless when you brake.

yes, i actually put in a bulb from my dad's grand prix that we both knew worked and the bulb or bulbs did the exact same as mine. I also put my bulbs in my dad's tail lights and they worked fine so I am still drawing a blank....

I'm about to hit the sack. If you can wait until tomorrow maybe I'll remember to look at some wiring diagrams and try to see what the problem could be... :th_biggrin2:
