Any reason NOT to go twin

Why would it get in the way? That supercharger can easily outflow this motor if its not having to work to create boost.
 


if you got a supercharger that is set up to spin and create 8 pounds of boost, then you got an 18psi turbo coming behind it, would it not choke up the turbo some??

that and would an intercooler under the supercharger be enough for all the heat???
 
You have to think of it in terms of cfm, not psi. Also, i will be running a full size phenolic core but i may plumb in a front mount as well havent decided.
 
The only reason to go twin is when you are running a larger turbo. Most of the base turbo kits run turbos tailored to our platform, very little lag. Some of the larger turbos available have been pieced together using various parts from different manufacturers to reduce the amount of lag there is. The basic rule seems to be that if you have a T67 or above, twincharged will help. You have to decide if you want to mess with 2 intercooling systems, also at that level traction becomes a problem, will you really be able to put that power to the ground or is the turbo lag really a good solution to traction problems?

With only an intercooler under the supercharger, I was able to run 15psi and pull mid 12's in full street trim with a crappy 2.1 60'. (I really don't know what I'm doing at the track :th_shakinghead1:). With dual W/A intercoolers (one for the turbo, and the other under the s/c), I have been able to run as much as 19psi (mix of race gas also), but I never got a chance to run full out at the track this year.

Once you make enough power, launching on these cars is tough no matter what you have. That's why I think turbo only is better for the track, so you can ease into it, and not spin half way down the track.

If I could drive, I'd already be in the 11's. :th_biggrin2:

I'm trying to see how far I can go on the stock cam and heads. I'd like to make at least one mid 11's run.

There are not that many twin-charge setups that I have seen track times from, but I do know that one of the GP guys from Canada ran 11.5 @ 125 on a twin-charge setup with only a 62-1 turbo.
