Any possibility of reusing low mileage LIM gasket?

Well I changed my LIM gaskets earlier this year and recently they've started leaking at the rear corner on the crossover side.

Any chance I would be able to reuse the gaskets and just clean and reseal the rubber end pieces? Don't want to fork out another $80 or so for the gaskets if I don't absolutely have to.

Already gonna have to replace the rear knock sensor and I'm not looking forward to that one bit.

I reused mine with about 400miles on them...same think, tiny leak at one corner. Tho i didnt pull mine off, i just took the RTV chunk out, and reapplied more.

If in doubt, it's better safe than sorry.

And they shouldnt be $80..they should be about $50...hell zzp is only $55.

Have fun with that knock sensor...I changed one..biggest PITA ever. Little tip though....the knock sensor has notches in it and you can stick a 21? wrench up there and turn it till it catches the notches and spin it out like that. That's the only way I could get it out. There's not enough room to actually get anything else up there.

Crows foot maybe. I'd be able to do it. It's not a ford.

On the LIM's.. If they are leaking.. you may not have added a blob of rtv before the gaskets went down and after they were in place to all 4 corners. It's a pain to clean them, but if you clean them well, you may get away with it.

Question to get you to buy the new gaskets. How many times do you want to take it apart to change/reuse the gasket? New gaskets mean you can seal them the first time.

I re-use alum gaskets in any situation... Never had a problem.

Plastic gaskets are pretty much ruined after a few tanks of gas.
