Antifreeze Pooring Out Of 2001 GP 3.8

I can't see exactly where this is coming from. It appears to be dripping down onto the rim of the oil pan on the drivers side then on down. At first glance it would look like it is coming out of the pan itself but the quickly you can tell that it is dripping from above it.

Anyone have any ideas what is right above the that area of the pan that would have antifeeze flowing through or flowing over it? Is there a sending unit down there? By-Pass hose of some sort?

Thanks.

How about not post it 3 times to start?

Probably coming from the LIM, or a leaking T-Stat housing.

Sorry about that. I assumed people looked through different parts of the forum and thought I'd have a better chance of getting some feedback. Sorry if that causes a great deal of trouble. I won't post that way again.

I appreciate your help Blue. This is my first foray into the world of the 3800 so on a scale of 1 - 10, how would you rank the degree of difficulty on these to items and is there a sure fire way to isolate them?

Thanks again and again, my sincere apologies for the posting strategy.

clean the areas well Run car and watch for the leak
These cars are easy to work on

I said it in the other post but tstat temp sensor and lim at the only things in the drive siad e that really leak or the hose but id think you would notice if it was the hose

Thanks Torque, should I be seeing any puddling around the top of the motor if it were the LIM or the Therm sensor? I'm not sure that I am yet seeing its actual source...I have cleaned the pan area with some GUNK but I am still not able to see. It looks like it is coming from above the starter. I have some picutres that I am going to post as soon as they get here from my blackberry.

Thanks so much again.

clean the top of the engine where the lim is and thermo as well

then run the car and get in there with a flashlight and look from top to bottom
If its coolant its got to be coming from top

Hi Torque, cleaned all the way around the LIM where it lays on the Heads and block then dried with compressed air (including the therm housing). Fired it up and ran for about 10 minutes and all the area that I had cleaned remained dry and free of anti-freeze. Then I got back below the car and it is still dripping at a rapid pace. I'd like to attach a picture of the bottom but I am not having much luck. It is gathering and then dripping from right around the flywheel cover.

Anyone ever had the coolant line to the transmission (or is it transaxle?) bust a leak all the sudden? I have cleaned everything around the intake down to the oil pan. This appears to be dripping down the block at the bottom and is puddling on the oil pan edge between two bolts on the drivers side front corner of the oil pan. Of course it puddles breifly then gravity takes over and dripps to the floor.

I am still having an issue really seeing where it is coming from but in tracing the coolant lines from the back side of the radiator....they appear to be headed in that general direction. So, are there any thoughts on the easiest way to get to to those?

Thanks.
