2004 Comp G, i'll try to keep this short. So basically my radio doesn't get good reception. I originally thought that is was because of something wrong with the aftermarket head unit i had installed and maybe the antenna connection on the back window (antenna is in the back window). After trying to get it to properly work and get reception i lost the part that connects to the window. But after a lot of research i have found out that i think the bad radio reception is cause by the tint on the back window that i also had installed. So now my question:

A) should i bring it to a shop and have them remove the top couple of inches of tint so the antenna has no tint on it
B)Have them remove all the tint and apply some that might not mess with antenna reception.
C) Basically bypass the stock antenna and get a "hidden antenna" like the ones for a motorcycle and apply it to the front windshield (Not sure how well these antennas work).

Also i'm trying to come up with a way to help attach the antenna back to the rear window (lost the little nipple piece that is attached to the window). Any and all suggestions are welcome really just want to get radio reception back. Thanks, Nick.

I do but i also really want to have it stay as close to stock and not have it completely rigged up. And what do you mean by "to old to work perfectly"?
 
back in the day, i took a store bought antenna, (10 bucks at the time) hooked it up to the radio and laid it under the cowl to hide it on my old 77 gmc truck. it worked just fine.
 
Also i notice most of these "hidden antennas" require a 12v source (trying to prevent adding more strain to the electrical system) so that's one of the reasons i want to try and fix it via the factory antenna.
 


i dont know much about amp'ed antennas, i used a standard metal rod antenna.

i could see one of them mounted in the trunk tho.
