I skimmed thru the header post and found some very useful info. So i started lookin into headers on the ol interwebs and found a set by pro tuning lab for like $185. Does anybody know if they would be worth it. Or if i shouldnt waste my money on them and get a name brand set
 


Okay. I just saw those and was wonderin. Im really hoping to do a lot to my car over summer and headers are on my list.
 
Yeah. I bought those ebay SD Headers. Was working on building up my new engine today. Thinking about making a "my ride" thread or whatever on here. But the SD Headers I bought look really nice

Yes those are it. And i will steer clear then. Lol and i will start savin for a good set of them. I need to do some more maintance kinda stuff before i go for performance stuff.
 


Good plan. Maintenance first! And a u-bend delete is one of the best first things you can do for your car

^yes. If you are going to do headers, they will replace the u-bend. I was just saying that if you ever plan on remaining stock, at least do the u-bend delete. I did a downpipe with high flowing cat when I first got my car thinking I wouldn't take it far. Now I am going with headers and doing a cam build.. Lol

Lol i wanna go big eventually and do a cam build. But its my dd right now. And mines an 04 so luckly i dont have the ubend. I wanna start one of the my car builds. But i havn had the time to sit on a computer and upload the pics i got so far.
 


Oh nice. I need to get the pics off my other phone so I can start a members ride thread and updates on my build. My car was my dd until a piston blew.. Lol. But got a new engine now and building it before I drop it in

Lol im goin for auto collision repair. So its 8-3 and then work at a parts store at night and on weekends :/ so hardly no time at all
 


Nice. Im the class im in now is my second class ive takin. Already takin the mechanics side of things. Didnt learn much tho
 
You're gonna love your cam/headers. I did the VS cam and SD headers, and a 3.4" pulley. I haven't even gotten my car tuned and there is an awesome amount of torque increase. What cam are you going with?

Also, words of advice on the flex pipe from the SD Headers. Theres a 99% chance you will have to replace the flex pipe for SD headers. It leaks really bad. Buy ZZP's double wall flex and have it welded in.
 
Aww whys it leak? I am going with a Comp Cam 76-802-9 cam with 105# springs. 3.4" pulley until tune. Then probably 3.2"

The flex pipe is single wall. It's only the braided material. If you shine a flashlight on the flex, you can see light pour through it. Go to ZZP's page and check out their flex pipe, you'll see what I mean.
