Another EVAP Delete Thread

Yeah, I know there's a million of them, but I have a question that doesn't seem to be answered in any of them, and since they're all a few years old I figured I'd avoid necro-posting and go with the lesser of two evils by creating a redundant thread :p

So anyway, I follow everything about the Evap Delete- pretty straight forward. What I'm wondering is what to do with the fuel pressure regulator? It has a line that joins into the same plug on the TB as the evap does, so do I just cap this off too, leave it open, or would it be a good idea to keep that feeding into the TB and just plug the evap line?

Also, with a full delete of evap including cannister, solenoid, wiring, and lines, will I still have pressure buildup in the tank? I would think unpluging the solenoid would remedy this by leaving the vent open?
 


Um i think the line on the fuel pressure regulator needs to see vacuum, dont cap that.

EDIT: ok yea i see what you are talking about now. I would just go out to an auto parts store and get some vac line and adapters (I dont think the fpr and TB nozzles are the same size).
 
There's already a line running from it to the TB, that and the evap feed into the same port. I was thinking about just plugging the evap line on that port and letting the FPR still feed into the TB on its own. Would that work?
 
I dont know, if you can get it to seal. I tried putting a screw in it and it didnt seal, so I just made new lines since I had to for my topswap anyway.
 
I was thinking of filling the hole with rubber cement or a sealant. So feeding it back into the TB is the way to go? Thanks.

As far as pressure buildup; am I correct in thinking the vent remains open if unplugged? Would this resolve the issue and I'm just reading posts from people who didn't unplug it, or will there still be pressure buildup?

I have all the wiring pulled as well, but not the actual lines going into the fuel tank. Any advice for removing these without dropping the tank?
 


you have an access panel for the fuel pump. cap it at the fuel pump and then just cut and pull
 
I started to do that, but I don't know which line is which :o. Also, there's a thick rubber hose coming from the solenoid towards the tank and I can't find the other end; it goes above the tank and I can't reach.
 
I just used rubber caps. Buy a bulk pack of assorted sizes.

So to cap off at the pump (z3r0), is it the center line? And the hose from the solenoid goes where?
 
if you cap the line at the tank, then it wont vent pressure... i have noticed that my fuel trims were thrown off quite a bit when i had the lines capped. right now i have the line installed and venting into the intake near the air filter.

as for blocking the line at the TB... i left the stock plug. i cut a 2" section of vac tube and placed inside and used a vac like cap to seal it.
 


Um that doesnt sound safe. If you unplug something near the filler neck doesnt it keep the vent open? I personally wouldnt not purposefully vent gas fumes under my hood.
