April 22nd, a beautiful evening. We, my wife, her sister and their father, had just finished a tasty pizza at Mickie's in N. Pekin. We had great seats to the Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood show. We were running right on time and were about a block away from parking at the Illinois Mutual Insurance lot where my sister in-law works. Sun roof open, windows down, then ....
LOOK OUT.... CRASH....
We were going down Washington St. just past the cop shop, through the intersection at Harrison St. I heard my wife yell "Look Out!" I looked at the light to make sure it was green (it was), a split second later I saw the minivan, then I had a face full of airbag. Some sweet, middle aged lady had completely spaced out on her way to the post office and ran her red light. We T-boned her front passenger side at about 35mph.
Everyone was pretty much OK, except for some bumps, bruises, aches and pains. We missed the show cause they insisted on taking me to the hospital to get checked out.
The worst part is that her insurance decided to total my 04' Grand Prix GTP Comp-G.
Alls well that ends well. Her insurance paid for the GTP Comp-G I found on cars.com in Gurnee, IL. There's a couple of pics of it at the end.
P.S. - I think I like it better than the my first one.
