Ambient Air Sensor

So i believe my 98 GT did not come with the sensor attached. I've read that the help the AC no how hard to work and a few other things. If I by one and plug it in will in benefit anything or is the wiring different for those kind of things. I also want it for when i use OBII to see the difference between the ambient temp and air intake temp. Right now the ambient doesn't even register. So if I plug it in will everything work like it should and will the AC benefit?

if that sensor is reading wrong the ac and heat wont work right. if your bulbs are maybe burnt out if the ac and heat work as they should.

not sure how the ac would act if it was unplugged.

Ya i'm kinda confused on it all. I have a very basic GT. No dual climate control and no mirror with outside temp which i'm guessing is why mine didn't have the temp sensor. Wires are there but no sensor on the end. Heat and AC work but takes them both a while to get going. Just wondering if there's somewhere else that can read the temps. Since the OBDII wasn't picking up the outside temp though i don't think there is. I was going to compare the ambient temp to the intake temp to see the difference but there's no reading for the ambient.

it your ac works and heat, id just think you car cant read that part of the app. theres a ton of stuff that dont work. its all try and see if it works.

gotcha thanks. The parts cheap so I think i'll grab one and plug it in and see what happens. Pluging one in won't screw anything up with the way it reads now right?

if you work your way through the t app when hooked up to the car, only the items highlighted in green are usable. i looked at mine before its not lit up at all, so it wont work.

being my car has that sensor and auto cc. and its not lit for me, i dont think it will work for you.

wait and see if anyone else was able to get it to work before buying sensors that you dont need.
