I had a a polished torque star that I pulled from the jy in worse shape than that one come out real clean. And by worse I mean it had baked on brown brake pad material all over it inside and out. So I took in into my work (I work at a detail shop), threw some acid all over the whole thing, and two minutes later I sprayed it off (recommended time is around 30 seconds lol). Dang thing came out looking close to new.

You guys try too hard

Use cider vinegar to clean it ( its about 5% acidic ). Soak the area liberally and let it sit for several hours ....spraying more vinegar to keep it damp.

Rim cleaner actually smells like an acid in the bottle. Some are stronger than others, maybe thats because some are better?
