Aluminum Oil Pan/bracket for 04 GTP

I have the steel oil pan with the 'U' like engine bracket... Which bracket do I have to use other than #2?... Also looking to upgrade #4 to Poly Motor Mounts.

Do I absolutely have to use the bracket that goes in between differential cover/oil pan (#1)?

And do I have to use the bracket that goes in front (#3)?

Just need to know because I know 04 GTP's is a weird yr.

#2 is correct

As for the diff to oil pan bracket, I'd recommend it. the transmission casing is reinforced by that bracket. Have I done an install on my car and forgotten the bracket around midnight? Yes I had. When I did the trans again another month later I added it back in w/o any negative issues. I'd always put it in when doing a trans. Always do the backwards bolt too, cause it's way easier than people make it out to be.

Ok, that's good to know. I left it at the yard thinking I wouldn't necessarily need it but I'll grab it. Thanks for the response Billboost

You could also use a 97-03 one... it'll go to the engine instead of the pan. Personally I always thought it was an easier bracket to install/remove. That's only because I did a billion more of them vs the 04 plus though.

Interesting thing here is the engine block is the same S2 vs S3 and the trans is the same at the diff where the bolts go. Not sure why GM changed it from going to the engine to the oil pan. You can use either bracket though. If you change to the older bracket, make sure you get the bolts too as they are different.

Yeah, that's a waaaay better set up and waaaay easier to access. I'll be going after that bracket tomorrow AM. Thanks for the pics!

When you swap the pan.. just leave that bracket alone. You don't have to remove it to get the old engine mount horseshoe bracket off.

My Regal had the aluminum oil pan and the older style trans to engine bracket shown in my last post.

Yeah, I see exactly what you're saying. Thanks!... The 06 GTP threw me off how that bracket set up was. I had to remove the oil filter neck to take the bracket out. Weird ha
