Alternator bracket?

I am doing a Gen V M90 top swap on my L36. Being that my car is a 2002 Monte Carlo will I need the 99+ alternator bracket to make the Gen V M90 fit? I read someplace that if I use the 97-98 bracket off a L67 that the snout of the Gen V will hit the bracket. Also..Can I use a 97-98 GTP wire harness and fuel rail with injectors with a L32 LIM and heads without any issues?

I'm here...I'm here. Being the Bonneville guy, I've come across this type of thing.

The easiest thing for you to do is use a 99+ GP bracket and alternator. The below pic is the easiest. If the output lugis in the way, take the spacer off, trim the plastic and you will be all set.

when I first did the swap into my 97 Bonneville, I shaved a few things off the back of the alternator to make it fit. Literally had a piece of paper clearance.

And on the 97-98 GP alternators, I've see guys put the bolt in the post closest to the snout and let the alt ride on top of the bracket (not bolted on that side) and that gives them the clearnace needed. Not sure how back the contact would be though.

Personally, I liked the idea of going to the newer style alternator and then finding a PA or Bonneville SSEi one that puts out 125amps vs our stock 105amps.

Np, just saw it yesterday.

BTW most people don't replace the bracket on the rear from the SC to the alt bolt. I found that hogging out the hole slightly at the alt end of the bracket..it fits

This is weird.. According to GMpartsdirect and GMpartsgiant. My 2002 L36 has the same alternator and bracket as the 99+ L67 GP. So I should already have the right stuff.
