this morning it was cold so i let the car warm up about 15, when i went to leave i turned the wheel and the rmps almost bottom out. then jump back up all the dash lights and head lights dimed out and i thought for sure it would stall. turning the wheel deffinatly made it worse and the having the heat on makes it worse too. is this an alternator problem i think it is 14v? any input greatly appreciated.thank you oh yeah i have already replaced this alternator twice. maybe there is something else going on causing power issues?!? and lately ive been hearing what i assume is the alternator through my speakers. i dont know if that is related, but there is deffinatly some kind of power issue.

all cars will do this gurl. its because when your sitting there and you turn the wheel it puts load on the system. if u wanna test out the alternator start the car and while its running unhook the battery and if it kills right there u have a faulty alternator. if it dont stall u ahve a good alternator.

Don't have the rear defroster, blower motor at high, headlights, radio etc etc etc running when you try and turn the wheels w/o moving. Problem solved. :th_thumbsup-wink: All that stuff puts a heavy load on the motor.

ok thank you sooo much everyone, btw my heater doesnt work right i have a toggle switch so its heat on full blast or no heat at all. so that prob has a lot to do with it! can i get a more powerful alt or is 14 v it? thanks again guys !!

Much more than 14V and you'll have electrical overload. The issue is more that at low rpm the alternator is not able to keep up with the demands. The expectation is that you would be driving most of the time when this type of demand is on it and the higher rpm gives the alt plenty of capacity.

ok that makes sense cause it is fine when my foot is on the gas it only does it when its not moving too fast. i thought maybe diff alt would help, but i dint know thank you so much again for all the help. :)

so last night at zzp my bf found a free mod for higher voltage its just a wire that goes from the pack of the alternater to the fuse box under the hood!!
