Airbag Light.

Tonight my airbag light came on in the speedometer while I was driving. I shut it off at a stoplight and restarted it which cleared it for about a minute till it came on again.

What causes this nonsense?
 


A sensor fault.

It tripped a code, find a scanner that can read the code and start researching possible causes and fixes for the code.

We can offer really no other help without knowing what is causing the code to come up.

i would bet it is the clock spring in the column. It is the only moving part and that could wear out.
wire and connectors could fail or have corrosion causing the light to be intermittent as well.
one of my 97s has a bad clock spring. it was scanned at the dealer during a recall visit and they told me.
