air bag blew up!!!

First off i am ok, now this is what happend. I got bored today soo i took out my bushmaster it's just like a m16 just a different name, it takes .223 rounds, anyways i loaded up the clip and i took a stroll out back, i have lots of land soo i don't have to worry about shooting any neighbors, well anyways i looked at my old gtp and was like ahh wth soo i opend the door and stood back about 10 feet and i aimed for the steering wheel, Bang i took the shot right in the middle of the steering wheel, just a little smoke came out nothing big, soo i took another shot in the same area, BANG BOOOM!!! and smoke and fire comes roaring out of it and i was like oooooo ****, first thing i did was run to my house and i got my fire extinguisher and i brought it back to the car and now its in bigger flames and the smoke is black now and it is getting worst, soo i pulled the pin on the fire extingquisher and i have at it, and i actully took out the fire, and their was nothing but white smoke from the extinguisher pouring out of the car. I looked on the tag on the fire extinguisher and it had a 1990-1991 tag on it lol, thank god it still worked. Yes i know i am an idiot, but man that thing just exploded like a bomb.
 


LOL I am laughing and shaking my head at the same time. Either that was the funniest thing in the world or the dumbest thing, its a toss up :p Good shootin though Tex :p
 


those air bags pack one heck of a punch!!! I launched a Port a John witht he passenger side airbag from my old 94 camaro.


good story....but kinda sad to read you shot up a GP.........
 
I can get some pics but im gonna have to wipe all of the white powder from the fire extinguisher, but it was crazy, i'm not gonna try the passengerside airbag till winter time.
 




Yeah, air bags are dangerous mother-f-ers. When I went to UTI one of the main demonstrations that they did at the time was detonate one upsidedown on the ground. No ****ting, it actually went over the 1 story building.

Scary to think about one going off in your face, but its safer than planting your face into a solid steering wheel I guess. :D
 
That would of made one hell of a awesome video!!! Too bad you didn't plan ahead for that.

I am tired of my old beat up mail box myself, and am tempted to take care of it with an air back stuffed inside it. Just need to come up with an air bag....and a video shall be made for all to see. :D

The new mail box I already have planned out. The base will be 2 series 60 Detroit Diesel crank shafts welded together and buried about 3 to 4 feet deep, and then a square form put around them and filled with concrete. Inside the form I will have some wooden numbers nailed backwards so once the concrete drys, and the forms are removed, the house number will be set in the concrete.

Why so over kill, I have lived here 4 years, and have had my mail box and steel post base hit twice. If they hit this new one...I want it to do some damage to their vehicle. LOL

Might have to get with ED and see if he has an air bag he would like to donate.

That's going to be awsome. Put up some pics of the new when you get done with it. Feel sorry if a compact hits it or if someone tris to go after it with a bat.
