Aftermarket stereo in a 06 gp

I have a 2006 Grand Prix GT i was wanting to put a aftermarket stereo in it. BUT my DIC would not keep the proper date and after more research my clock in the stereo was not set properly. The AM PM was switched and now the date is fixed.My question is if i put a aftermarket stereo in will the date be messed up or will it still work cause i think the date part anyway goes through the stereo. Thanks for any help on this.
 


You will lose the date function of the DIC with aftermarket radio. No way around it. DIC gets date info from stock radio.
 
I believe I read somewhere on hear that you can keep your stock radio hooked up a certain way, to where the date still shows. I think the member on here ran wire to the trunk and left his stock radio there.
