Aftermarket Oil Pressure Sender

So, I installed an Autometer Oil Pressure Sender and gauge in my 2000 GTP. I put the sensor in the oil filter adapter where the stock sender is. Everything went in fine, I ran the one wire from the sender to the back of the gauge. I start the car and the needle barely moved from the "powered off" placement, but never even reached the 0 on the gauge.

I first thought it was the tephlon tape blocking the ground from the motor to the sender, then I didn't use the tape and nothing changed.

Did I install something wrong?

I highly doubt something is wrong with the sender or gauge since they were never opened, though I've had them sitting in a box from a previous project for over 5 years.

Here is the gauge:

Check the nuts on the back of the gauge itself and be sure they're tight even if you aren't using them for anything. When I installed my Pro-Comp gauges my oil pressure read fine for a minute then as I was driving it dropped to 0. I about had a heart attack until I pulled the gauge from the pillar pod and noticed the nuts were loose. Tightened them up and the gauge works fine.
