adding remote start to an 05



Well, I’m of the opinion that most anything can be done if you have enough money. And to be honest that is where I see you might end up. I’m sure a dealership would do it, but it’s going to cost you. And there are tons of “shops” that I’m sure would love to “try” to install an aftermarket unit. But be warned I’m not aware of anyone with an aftermarket unit that works 100% and didn’t lose some functionality with their car with the 04+ GPs. If you do get one installed, let us know how it turns out.:th_nervous:
 
The 05 should be remote start ready, meaning you buy the dealer kit and then they enable your bcm for remote starting, program the remotes etc.
It's just a little reciever they swap with your current keyless one and new remotes but with the kit comes a code or something they use with your vin so they can download a new calibration to the bcm.
As for the price im guessing its around 200 but wouldnt hurt to check.
