• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

adding Nav to a GXP

Bought a used nav unit from another gxp to put in my 2008 GXP. Both came with XM radio.. I pulled my radio cdplayer out and it only had 2 wiring plugs going into it.
The navigation unit had the same 2 plugs then 2 more plugs, 1 grey plug with only one black wire coming out of it, the other plug has 2 pink wires and a white plug...
I dont have any other wiring behind my radio for the nav to work. Ive called the dealer and said you cant get any other wiring for the car. True or false? ive looked at tons of diagrams on GMpartsdirect but it doesnt show part numbers.

Well lets see here, there is GPS, xm, radio antenna, power and other wires. I know one of mine is not used. Possibly for cd changer?-@

Bought it off this site from a fellow member.

Going to get my new key fobs programmed and radio unlocked and my TPMS reset Wednesday. then hopefully ill be done with this thing. Im super stoked about it, but i hate going to the dealer or any place to get work done. (98% of the work, i do it all, the 2% consists on this bull****, alignments and window tinting.. lol

Yeah I had more issues when I went to get my fobs programmed, the reciever was junk so I'm gonna just install Alarm.

The white plug with the 2 pink wires is for the Voice Command, thoes 2 wires go to the onstar module, The other grey plug is for the Nav Antenna

Okay, so i got the Nav unlocked from an auto shop, got the key fobs programmed, got a new TPMS since the old one was bad...

Now i cant find the VSS wire inside the airbox. I took apart the first 53pin connector finding no wires going to the 22pin.. Im stuck. I added the D pin for the connector in the back of the nav, but now i dont know where to hook up the VSS> i tried looking at the speedo wiring, but there wasnt any green ones connected to that.. wthh????

Are the corvette Navs identical to the pontiac ones? and do you lose the date in the DIC like you would with an aftermarket deck?

Yes they are the same unit. I was told the symbol at start up will display a vette logo instead of a Pontiac one. No you won't loose the date in the DIC.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II

well o damn lol i could be wrong, but i dont remebr ever seeig a write up for a corvette nav in a impala

yeah sorry about that, got to realize i have a real GXP nav from factory.
Here is what i found: The VSS is on the blue 56-pin connector at the PCM, VSS is on pin 22, dark
green wire, bottom left is pin 1, left of row 2 is pin 14, 8 pins over from
leftmost pin on the second row.

dont know if this will help at all

i looked at that pin number and theres no wires going into pin 22. Im not sure if i was looking at the right 53pin connector inside the airbox, but it was the only blue on all the way to the left if you were looking straight down at it..
