active duty army versus army national guard

so, my first deployment to Afghanistan was in 2004-2005. we had a weight room that was pretty decent, except this active duty sergeant major decided to build his living quarters adjoining the weight room. soldiers would be going to town getting their swell on and he would walk in and scream at them to not drop the weights. I'm sorry, but when you are chest pressing 100 lb dumbbells it is extremely difficult to not drop the weights. this sergeant major was such a prick that he forced all the units that used the weight room to post a guard that would tell people not to drop the weights, so that when the weights were dropped he could go yell at the gym guard. it was the sergeant major's dumb choice to have his living quarters as part of the weight room and he has to take his frustration out on us.

what the hell does this have to do with the national guard? you couldnt pay me to do active duty not a chance in hell. i have same benifits same training less bullsh1t drama of someone trying to micro manage my every move!

(national guards cheaper and more cost effective too lol FACT!)

and sooooo if were talking national guard vs army why in the hell am i stuck at ft bliss for demob for 14 days when ive been done since day 6? both the north dakota command back at home and the south carolina command i stayed in wash dc with have both gone to bat for us to try get us out of here early. but nope we cant leave until the same day as the chartered flight back to south carolina even though im taking a commercial flight back to ND. best answer we can get from the demobilization command which is an active duty component is "because army" im stuck here until the 11th. COMPLETE BULLS1T....

it seems "because army" is a pretty poor excuse. my 3rd time going through a demobilization process and the 1st 2 took less than a week........FML!!

dropping the weights is one thing, doing a chest press with some heavy dumbbells and putting them back on the ground is another. I should have clarified better. it didn't matter how people lifted, he would come out and get irate.

Another reason I shared this story is to show my overall contempt with active duty army. at this point my former national guard unit is in danger of being dissolved because of active duty politics.

lol you based this off a dumb sgm? We all know rather big army, or reserve a sgm will come up with dumb ****, that's what they do. They've served for so long they don't give a **** how u feel. And also let's be honest there are to many douche nozzles that slam weights anyway. Some people don't know how to take care of ****.

Also 98 you fail to realize I how the flights work, can't just grab a flight and go when your unit isn't paying for the flight. We're talking federal money for us Vs. sLost ate funds for you, so yea you will be held hostage to a schedule Unless your unit wants to pay the dime.

bull**** ive been deployed 3 times and 14 days is insane for demob. longest the other 2 times took was 6 days. but yeah go ahead hold me i still smile im not stuck here permanently!

besides the money factor doesnt matter either they need to fly me home so whats the difference if its X day or X day? still got to make the trip and its booked on my personal govt travel card......

edit: i could see your point if it was chartered flight but im not flying back to south carolina. back to ND so commercial flight for me! byeeeeeeeee

the last time we demobbed they told us some **** about an act of congress and that demob had to take that long. not sure if its true or not.

and you are right about dumb sergeant majors doing stupid **** all the time, but this is one more straw in the haystack against active duty people

.....meh, I've had my fair share of retard guard units, some are high speed dudes tho and I wouldn't goin out with again. I guess we're all jaded, I've been active duty or almost 7 years since the beginning

I've always been guard except for tradoc and deployments. I will admit each component has its share of dumbasses. I'm am biased towards my branch

your telling me you cant put down a pair of 100's quietly? Baby weight, shouldnt make a sound, **** 125's barley tap the floor when I am done.
