AC system won't fill and compressor motor clunks?

This is my situation:

I pulled a vacuum on my system which hasn't been working for a while, and it seemed to hold so I tried to fill it with some R134A and UV dye. However, when I tried to add the refrigerant I got a clunking noise from the compressor (I think) and the engine revs down a little. Both issues can be seen in the video. Is my compressor shot? I'm thinking I'll need to replace that, it may also be the source of the system originally leaking...

After the vacuum did you add freon with the car running or not?

Recently worked with an ac guy and he adds without it running to bring it about 3/4 of the amount needed then fires up the car. Also if the compressor won't kick on it might be either the low or high pressure switches not being happy. In that case you sometimes have to jump the compressor to get it going and once you have let it run for a couple of minutes go back to allowing the pcm control it.

I had the car running when I added refrigerant. The dash light for the AC kept going out, and I kept turning it on. I got the car to take a little refrigerant, but it just didn't want to seem to fill. If I revved up the engine a little, I was sometimes able to get the compressor "clunking" like in the video, but it still wouldn't take much refrigerant and the compressor wasn't fully on.

How would I go about "jumping" the compressor? Might be something to try considering the system hasn't been run in a while. Last time I filled it I did get cold air until the refrigerant leaked out so the compressor was running.
