AC noise??

My AC works fine (real cold) but when Im driving with my AC on, I will hear a low grinding noise. I only hear the noise when I have the AC on. What could be the problem?

maybe the bearing on the pully on the compressor?

sounds like your compressor clutch is grinding on the compressor. the reason it doesnt do it when the ac is on is beacuse the clutch kicks off when you turn on the ac it kicks out. you need ac tools to get the clutch off but you might be able to ajust it. you have to put a shim in behind the clutch.

Thanks for the advice. Could I damage anything if I keep driving with the ac on?

Thanks. I rarely use the AC anyways since i live in Wisconsin so I wont rush and get it fixed.
