AC Delco Explosion

So, today I finally said goodbye to my stock AC Delco battery as it proceeded to leak its battery acid everywhere and die while I was in class today in the college parking lot!! Ughh! well 7 years was a good run right? Just thought I would vent a little of my frustration as I am left with the task of cleaning out my engine bay lol:th_sign-partytime:

Thats odd, i use nothing but AC batteries and Ive never had one come close to leaking.

How much do you have to replace under the hood? I worked for a lexus dealership when I was first driving, we had a SC300 come in WHILE it was on the lift the battery proceeded to leak to the point of explosion. There wasnt much left of that side of the car after the acid touched it, half the fender was blown out, the hood was saved cause it was raised, but all the electrical and plastic near that area under the hood was gone.

Be thankful that didint happen at school.

That sucks. I replaced my delco battery after wo years of owning the car due to the battery terminal leaking. Made a mess on the battery tray. Replace it with a deep cycle battery.

Yes that's essentially what happened to mine, the battery terminals leaked and made a mess of my tray and a few surrounding hoses that's all. I was just really exaggerating cuz I was venting about lol. And the battery lasted over 7 years so I have no complaints with AC Delco about that... its just the way that it went out lol.

Ah.. the hoses are alright.. I wiped them off before any real damage was done hopefully. I still have to clean around where the new battery is.. i have blue powder left around the tray lol
