I got an '04 grand prix GT and need to replace the ABS system/Traction Control could someone get me the documentation/schematics and or info on parts and everything That a end user such as myself would be able to do it.

To be specific, my ABS lights and Traction control Sensors errors are coming on, on my dash board. the car seems fine as far as brakes, no groaning or indication of the wheel hub. if i were to get a scanner what should i be looking for? more so i can find and resolve this problem?

The dealership is charging an arm and a leg to do this, any help would be most appreciated.

you can email directly at [email protected]

Thanks,

You need a code reader that can read codes from the ABS module. Most standard code readers can't do this. So you need a dealer/brake shop to tell you the code.

That will tell you what wheel to look at. Then you can look at the wiring/connectors. If those are good then it's a problem with the sensor in the hub itself.

Agreed, i would definetly recommend going to a brake shop to have the car scanned or to someone who may have a snapon scanner (i think thats what its called). I had a problem where my TCS, ebrake, and abs lights were all on @ once. Never had a braking issue just had the lights. I had my car scanned and found out that I needed a new EBCM. I would definetly say check all 4 corners for any hub issues. Check fuses as well. Someone on another forum was saying that the alternator may have something to do w/ it but I am not sure about all of that. Through the dealer the part is about $1000, if you go to GMpartsdirect they have the part for half the price. I think you can get hubs online (zzp and intense).
