ABS Light - After rear brake change

Hey guys, hope someone can help.

Recently changed rear brakes on my 2000 Grand Prix GT.

Replaced only pads and rotors. Now after about a minute my ABS and Trac Control light comes on?? :th_scratchhead:

I was told while doing the job to unplug the battery and remove the abs plug from the hub until everything is back together. Not sure if there is any truth to that but I did it anyways. I also removed the cap to the brake res until the job was complete. Blew out both male and female ends of the plug before reinstall.

I've had recent issues with the abs before, like if I hit a hard railroad track the light will come on, but goes away after a restart. Now this ...

??? Any ideas what the problem might be or why this happened?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps the connector is bad. Possible loose wire. Did you check for any corrosion in the plugs? I chased and ABS light for a long time in my old car and it never went away until a new hub went on w/ a new sensor.

Probably a bad connection or a broken wire in the abs harness. Have a shop read the code and it will narrow it down to what wheel is having issues.
