ABS and Traction Control Lights

Hello all,

2005 3.8 V6...just had the traction control and ABS lights come on recently. Happened when I was turning sharp into a parking spot. Had the codes read and they said that it was the front passenger speed sensor. I had the bearing and sensor changed out and when we turn the car back on, it was still throwing a code. Pulled it back apart and checked the wiring to see if we had a short in the wire or something like that. Didn't help. Disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and the codes went away. It was fine for about a day, then started coming back on. Mostly it would kick back on when I took a sharp turn. If I shut the car off and turned it back on, no lights. Then it would pop up again. Even started popping up from hitting a hard bump on that right side. Sometimes when the lights pop on, I can feel the ABS pulsing in the break pedal.

Any ideas??? ABS computer?

I'm not too techy when it comes to this stuff, so I could use some help. Trying to sell this VERY soon, so I need to get this taken care of...and for as cheap as possible.

Thanks!

Matt

theres always the chance you got a bad bearing/hub.

get it re scanned see what it says now. it could be the d/s now. things like to wear out on pairs.

I agree that I should have it re-scanned. My only thing is that when I would hit a bump on the passenger side, it would trigger the light again. This was the same side that was originally at fault. Which makes me think its still something with this side.

Here's a post that I found that might have a possible answer:

I'm going to check out the wiring as soon as I have a chance.

mine was doing the same thing, hard turn while hitting a dip or pot hole, changed the hub that was loose. p/s had lots of play in it. no more light.

and then 2 weeks after changing it the light came on again, same deal turn car off it goes a way. so im thinking the other side is bad, or i got a bad new hub.

im going to have it scanned soon. and see where it leads me, i have a 3 year warranty on the new hub. so thats, that much off my mind.
