Got back home to find my 2000 GtP covered in good old fashioned Northwest greenery, aka Moss. I also noticed the oil was black, engine bay almost as dirty as the outside, and 46k more miles on the ODO than when I left. I changed the fluids, plugs, wires, fuel filter, and battery. Finally got her started up and MAF code, replaced, redriven. Noticed an exhaust leak, fixed that, gutted the cat, u bend gone, Magnaflow. MAF goes out again after couple months, so I pull out the K&N, put on custom CAI, and new MAF. Looking to do more later, over time, slowly.
Right now I'm looking at PCMs. INTENSE still have $99 starter? With the removals and deletes? Who has a good, base start, PCM now a days?
 


I bought a ZZP 1.0 PCM when they had a black Friday sale for like $70? I had all the codes deleted for EGR, cat and other hippie stuff. No complaints here. Higher shift points, and line pressure decimated my motor mount.
 
One week after an oil change is enough to turn it black for some reason, which is unfortunate because it makes it difficult to determine if it needs to be replaced.
 
Send a sample into Blackstone Labs and let them run an analysis, they will tell you what metals are in the oil that may indicate wear and also the % of additives remaining.
