Auto makers say many older cars could be damaged by using E15 fuels, and the auto industry's main trade group fought to convince the EPA not to allow the sale of E15. But the agency authorized it last year, in a victory for Washington, D.C.'s powerful ethanol and farm lobby. The AAA said it conducted a survey and found that 95% of those questioned hadn't heard of E15. The motor club said it surveyed auto makers who reported that only 12 million of 240 million cars and light trucks on the road are approved to use E15. Several auto makers have said they won't cover engine damage attributable to E15.[/TD]
