A/C Turns on when i switch to defrost

Okay, so tonight i noticed while i was driving home that when i turn my front defrosters on the A/C kicks on. It doesn't matter if push the A/c button or not. Is this some sort of random electrical issue? Has this ever happened to anyone, if so How do i fix this, I don't want to ruin my A/c compressor in winter months.
 


All cars are like that. The compressor helps dry the air so it doesn't further fog up the windows. In the winter if the outside temp is below a certain point the AC compressor won't kick on no matter what you do. You don't have to worry about messing it up.
 
hmm.... I feel like such an idiot! :th_laugh-lol3: I kinda thought that for a minute, but then i never remembered it doing that before. Makes sense actually.
 
i know. ;) was referring to the question. i usually turn on my defrost setting for the front window if i just want to keep the car kinda cool.
 


is this a joke? omg. if the a/c compressor comes on with the rear window defogger, now that's a problem!lollolololololoolllll
