99 gtp changing leaky intake gasket???

intake started leaking antifreeze so getting it changed.iwas just wondering if there was anything i should or could do to upgrade or preventive precaution .planning to put on a 3.5 pulley in the futurejust havent done any of the needed upgrades already have a cooler t stat but will be changing it while it is apart ?

headers, then a pulley drop, then a tune to make the most of it. return the 180 t stat, not needed.

get some metal elbows too for the shop to change with the lim. and make sure they know to seal the lim bolts with thread sealant or your leaking coolant up the threads again. why you got pools of coolant over the lim bolts now.

Save yourself 400.00 and just do it yourself. It's not hard at all. Just take your time and keep the parts separated and take notes. GOOGLE is your friend if you get in a pinch. Also......like Scotty Doggs said....replace the plastic water elbows with aluminum ones. The plastic ones break apart and have a pick of some sort to scrape the pieces of separated plastic elbow out of the LIM

Make sure they replace the intake gaskets with metal ones and not plastic or you'll possibly have the same problem down the road.

if im thinking correctly coolant runs through the tensioner assembly on those. if so i would look at replacing the coolant elbows with the aluminum ones. the plastic one are likely to break when removing them. NOE 6601942 is the napa part number and like indy said i would defiantly spend the extra money on the problem solver gaskets. im also not a big fan of dex-cool. id put green ethylene-glycol in it if it were mine.

i already have the green i will go to metal everywhere suggested thanks again . but i will leave it to my mechanic he is about 30$ anhour

It's a 2-3 hour job and can be done with simple hand tools.
A member from here even made this cool easy to follow video. Note he also did his lifters so you can skip that part.
