• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Trans professionally rebuilt last year ( I have receipts) and about 18K ago at 166K and is of course out of warranty. I just purchased the car 112 miles ago. I was about 100 miles from home taking the car on its maiden voyage as part of my fleet and to work out the bugs before turning the car over to my 21 year old son in whose hands it was expected to meet its end and face certain destruction. I was attempting to pull away from a light and the car refused to move forward. I looked under expecting to find a huge puddle but found nothing. Fluid is up and super clean. Back at the wheel I tried to shift into everything and found only reverse is working. This thing only has reverse? At least I was able to get out of the road. Any thoughts anybody?

get it scanned by someone who has a good scan tool....even if its not settin off ses light...gauranteed theres still some codes on there.sounds like what mine was doin.a bottle of sea foam trans conditioner helped out for a lil while.

Often pulling the shifter into manual 1 will get you going to overcome a few common problems but if you lost everything then its more serious. Was it working fine and then just trying to take off from a light after you slowed to it the trans lost all forward or did it give you any symptoms before hand?

Greetings Trannyman. I've read several of your posts on this and other issues. You've saved me several busted knuckles, much frustration and even saved me from myself a time or two. I share in the respect that this and other forum communities have for you.
Many thanks.

Stop & go about ten miles before getting on the Hwy. No problems. I drove about 90 miles on the interstate, exited and stopped at the light at the bottom of the ramp. Made the turn went about 8 miles @ 55 stopped at the next light and that was it. I never felt anything out of the ordinary. Engine RPM was steady with cruise on. Trans responded to acceleration on the streets, ramp and passing. Now Reverse is the only thing that remains. The TCS light was on from the beginning and does not switch off. I probably should have mentioned that. I also have noticed that now when I shift from Park to Drive the engine RPM lowers about 200 but the trans does not engage in forward gears at all.

Often when you shift into drive and the rpms drop but there is no power or movement you have lost an apply element. The forward bands are known to crack or break where the apply pin pushes on them but this will still give you manual 1 takeoff. If your input clutch piston came apart or the seal is torn you will lose fwd movement, or if the input clutch sprag went south you will lose fwd movement but the later is not common at all. There isnt a lot you can do outside of looking inside to find the problem. The fluid level is topped off correct?
