99 Grand prix with flashing CEL

has anybody every had their car's theromstat go out, while driving it?

This morning my check engine light started flashing at me, and my car started ideling funny while I was at a stop light, and when I got going, I didn't have much for power, but then the cel quit flashing and I had my power back, then the temp gauge started climbing... is it my thermostat, or could a intake have went out?

Usually a flashing CEL is a misfire. Technically the flashing means a catalyst damaging condition. How high did the temp raise?

it got to 210, but I also turned on the heater. This car never heats up past 180, and i have even had the thermostat replaced thinking it was bad.

The fan settings from the factory don't turn the low speed fans on until 216F and the high speed on at 228F. If you were sitting still as you say, likely the thermostat is fine because it didn't go very hot at all.

I'd concentrate on the flashing CEL and aim toward spark plugs and wires to start off.

It was the intake manifold (the upper intake plenum). Pulled it off and it was full of antifreeze. Got everything back together, but broke off a gas line fitting in the process. So need to get that fixed and change out the thermostat since its right there... and hopefully it will fire up!
