99 Grand Prix GT Died and won't start

I have a 1999 Grand Prix GT that has 178,000 miles on it.... Daughter was driving it home the other night, and it got warm on her so she stopped and had coolant put in it, it cooled right down, she started to drive again and the service engine light came on and the car died, and now it will not restart. We installed a new fuel pump, new fuel filter, Cam sensor, crank sensor, temp sensor. We have good spark and fuel pressure... really seems like a timing thing, it will crank just fine, and when you let off of the key from trying to start it, it chugs like the timing is off.... Any ideas of what to check, I am at a loss on were to go from here??? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Where the plugs wet when they came out? The coolant loss points to either a external or internal leak. Since you didn't mention seeing any leak, then I'll assume internal. That would have me suggest you read this thread

Then pull the TB off to confirm that there is coolant in the EGR area of the intake. If so.. replace intake (probably do LIM gaskets at the same time) and you are all set once the plugs and cylinders dry up.

However I'd think you would get some starting and bad running from it.. Timing chains don't jump gears on these cars. Usually there are only a couple things that can go wrong. I'd be inclined to then try unplugging the maf like Rico suggests and maybe work the throttle a bit to get it running.

Thanks for the input... We haven't noticed any external coolant leaks... I will try unhooking the MAF sensor and see if i can get it to run that way first.
Thanks again!!
