99 gp 3.1 random misfire

occasionally my check engine light comes on i get a random misfire code. usually happens under acceleration/high rpm. My battery also doesn't hold much of a charge eg. if i leave radio on 15 20 min car wont start. could this cause my misfire?
 


Bad battery won't cause a misfire.

Could have a failing alternator or battery...your local auto parts stores will check those for free. Also, leaving the key in the "on" positon will drain the battery, use the accessory...that's what it is there for.

As for the misfire. Get new spark plugs/wires...start there. Clean the coil pack terminals when you remove the old wires as well.
