98 Olds Intrigue starting issue-no crank no start

stock 98 Olds Intrigue. turn key to accel on and fuel pump primes. when turning to start nothing, no clicks from outside the car nor anything under the steering column. batteries at ~11-11.1v and doesn't drop when turning to ignition. swapped the ignition relay (under fuse box) with another one (fan relay) and no go. The only things left unchecked which im guessing on is a bad starter or a bad ignition switch relay that's under the steering column.

what's everyone's thoughts? im thinking about jacking the car up and tapping the starter around as well as checking the connectors on there. it ran fine a few days ago but my pop parked it for 4-5 days and we had a harsh storm come by 2 days ago.

Make sure it's ALL the way into "PARK", or try starting it in "NEUTRAL". If that doesn't work, tap the starter like you said while someone else is holding the key to start.

It's not showing any security issues on the display, right?

Re: 98 Olds Intrigue starting issue-no clicking

as far as im aware there's no security displaying. I also tried a spare key in case the original key the edges were not engaging. i'll try starting it in neutral as well as check the neutral safety switch.

Re: 98 Olds Intrigue starting issue-no clicking

Narrowed it down to possible ignition switch relay. I tapped the starter a few times and attempts to no avail. Also tried starting in neutral and still nothing.

So then i was playing around with the key held in the run position and wiggled it around and after 10 or so seconds it cranked and started up. Turned it off and did a few more times with success. Either a soon to be bad ignition switch relay or maybe key module selonoid?

get the car up on ramps, have a simple test light handy and ready to go to work. you need a helper to turn the key to crank while you touch the small stud on the starter. the light should power up as soon as the key is turned to crank, if its lighting up, and still not cranking for 5 to 10 seconds id lean towards the starter being bad.
