98 Grand Prix, no spark, maybe alarm issue?

First off we have dial up. I have spent the last two hours searching this site for an answer. I don't like to follow links so if you have a solution please post it. Too many ads and pics cause my pages not to load at my super high speed of 24 kbps. ;)

Ok first off this car in question. 98 Grand Prix wouldn't start. ICM and Cam shaft sensor have been replaced. Still nothing. No spark with a spark tester. After we put the new ICM on the factory alarm system was set. I was wondering if this would be causing the no spark issue? Its not our car and we have no remotes. The guy who left it for us to fix is on military leave, don't think he has the remotes either. We don't know how to disable it or completely bypass it if it thinks someone is stealing the car and cuts the motor so it won't start.

If that is not the problem please help us figure out what next. Apparently there was one of the coil packs changed but it did the same thing as before so we told him it was prob not it.

So, first things first, I need to know how to get around this annoying alarm system, and second what are my other options??

Thanks in advance for your help.

The light should flash, but when you put your key in, it should stop flashing. Is this happening?

I might also mention, I've played with it some, and even with having the security system on and killing the system, it always starts up for a second and then kills it. So you should be getting something.

WEll it started. Didn't do anything to it. Just started. Runs like crap tho. Headed to get some plugs for it since it sounds like it has a bad miss going on. Still need to know how to turn alarm off. Goes off when you open the door and when you start it. VERY ANNOYING!

Oh and the code reader still says crankshaft sensor, its new.

in your first post you said cam shaft sensor, now your saying crank shaft.

So which one is it?

Did you pull the Harmonic balancer off to replace a sensor?

Both were replaced. Yes we pulled Harmonic balancer off to replace it. the cam shaft if under manifold on front of motor.

But at any rate everything has been changed, cam and crank sensor, plugs, fuel pressure checked (fine). But it still has what seems to be a misfire, causing the car to get 6 miles to the gallon. Before we let the guy take it we ran the code reader. NO codes. His check engine light came on and he took it to autozone and it says crankshaft sensor. So what gives??? He says he is going to pay 60 bucks to take it to a shop to run diag on it. I think its a waste we already know what the code is reading. What do you suggest?
