'98 grand prix gtp almost stalling

When it is hot outside. (80+) My gp almost stalls when i push hard on the gas, It slows down. but engine revs up high and the boost goes all the way up like it should if i were speeding up. I have to replace the crankshaft positioning sensor, i know that but im not sure if this problem has anything to do with that sensor or if it is another problem. help?

P.S I havent had this problem since summer. this weekend was the hottest its been since than so it started acting up again. so im guessing it has to do with the heat
