98 grand prix 3.8 changed started and now batt wont charge

i have a 98 grand prix with a 3.8 and the starter went out. i replaced the starter and since then the battery wont charge. i have put 2 alternators on it and still no change. the car idles fine with no lights on. while driving the batt light will come on and also the check gauges light will come on. they come on at the same time and are on for about 3-5 seconds and then go off. every couple minutes it does this and eventually it dies. anybody have any ideas? was there a wire i didn't reconnect or may have moved and broken a wire? any help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe new battery?

have you done any voltage drop tests on it to see if its good or bad.

you have that starter hooked up wrong, I did that same thing. the two wires that go to the starter go TOGETHER!!!

i put a new battery in it as well. i will check the starter wires then. hopefully thats it.

checked the starter and i left 2 wires off. oops :s glad it was a simple fix though. thanks for the advice.
