97+ Lens out of headlight assembly

Sorry if this has posted before but I couldn't find anything that doesn't mention bulb replacements, or the melting the glue. This is a bit different.

My corners lens are fine and I replaced them but of course, the common problem is that the headlights themselves are fogged up and yellowed up- they're no good. I just have to replace the headlights. I took headlight assemblies from a junkyard. The corner lens were included and they were easy to take out, of course.

But I found that the housing themselves has melted out of shape and they don't fit so my question is this. Can I just use my old housing assembly since they fit better. But I can't understand how to remove the headlight lens out. It looks like there's a star screw [sorry, i don't know what it is] on top and a thick screw through it. It looks like it has no cap to unscrew. Is it possible? I just don't want to order headlights when I have plenty of corner lens or with corner lens included! Am I screwed?

Anyway, thank you in advance. I'd appreciate it!

^ Is correct on the 2 10mm bolts holding them onto the bracket, they can be boogers to get to, but easy to swap capsules.

However as you said, if "the housing themselves has melted out of shape and they don't fit" and you just want to swap the len's you need to BAKE the capsules to melt the glue and pry the lens' off. Then to re-apply you can use some clear silicone or window caulk.

Look this over for better instructions and pictures of how to take them apart.

Thank you so much! For some reason I didn't see them...
Thank you for pointing them out for me, I feel stupid. Next time, I'll make sure to look all over.

Today, I completed swapping the housing/capsule. Successful. All thanks to you, guys.

And to TLSheff, Sorry, I didn't explain clearly since I didn't know proper terms. The whole lamps themselves were fine. Just the black part assembly that hold the lamp in place were melted a bit, top and side. Hardly noticeable but somehow it made a huge difference in putting them into place properly. Anyway, really nice pictures and guide!
