97 GS seems to be starting in 2nd gear

My 97 GS that i'm trying to sell is all of sudden starting out in 2nd gear. I've looked around here and come to the conclusion to try unplugging the battery for a while or if that don't work replace the computer.

I have to wait til I get home tonite to try those ideas but figured I would ask in the meantime... does anybody have any other ideas?

Also I have a spare 00 GTP stock computer hanging around can I just swap that into the stock 97 GS?
